Q: how to reset factory stereo on a volvo c70?
we've recently bought a volvo c70 , 2001 y reg, we got given the code to type in to get it working but 2 days ago we left home with it and tryed guessing the numbers, we got it wrong a few times then next thing the stereo is saying OFF, it wont let us key any codes in. been told to leave it for 24 hours then it will reset it self, but that does'nt work either, help ???xxx

A: Disconnecting the battery wont make any difference to it, it is on a lockout and it needs to be left up to one hour with the radio switched ON either in the car (with the ignition on or out on a power supply) it will then reset and allow you to put the correct code in. It can be reset right away but you would need to take it to a local car radio dealer to get this done.

Q: 2002 VOLVO C70 Oil light is on, good oil pressure ,bad turbo?
I need some volvo tech help on this one i have a 2002 c70 turbo, I bought with a bad turbo, oil was pouring through the exhaust the propeller came apart. I had a shop change the turbo, oil light was on while running car to clear oil from exhaust the new turbo sheared a bolt. They checked oil pressure and said it was good they changed the sending unit but oil light is still coming on. I had them change the oil line to turbo in case of a clog. Does this sound like a bad oil pump causing the turbo's to come apart? Or clogged filter? The motor doesn't look to be slugged and isn't making any noises, oil pan has not been removed yet. Any ideas? Or TSB'S.or SSM? The oil light comes on when engine is warmed up after running a couple miles. The motor oil is filled to proper level.

A: Poor oil quality can definitely cause this problem ....You'll love me for this....Change the oil and filter with brand name synthetic oil...Valvoline,Red line,Mobile 1..etc....Preferebly 10w-30 grade.Take it for a spin.....Let me know...if not fixxed them i got another suggestion...after u change oil...

Q: Snow tires or all season for 2002 Volvo C70 Convert?
I have performance tires on my car and they are horrible in the snow, but I'm told they are great in the rain. Should I spend the money on snow tires for a few months or switch to all season? The current tires are in great shape. (I've had the car for only 4 months)

A: This is right up my alley. I work in the tire industry and I live in the snow belt. I don't know if you have the16 or 17-inch wheel option on your car. Either way, there are a few all-seaons options that give you a reasonable amount of winter traction while still giving you the kind of handling you've come to expect from your high-performance summer tires. The Bridgestone RE960AS Pole Position is at the top of that list. The Continental Extreme Contact would be next. I can vouch for both from experience. But you already have a good set of high-performance tires that work great in the spring, summer and fall, they are just useless in winter. Why not keep those and buy a second set of tires (preferably on their own rims) for use in winter? That way you get the best possible performance all-year round. Not a compromise like the typical all-season tire. I've been driving for 21 years and even though I have only been in the tire industry for 5, I have ALWAYS used winter tires in the winter time and high-performance summer or all-season tires spring-through-fall. Tires are the number 1 safety feature of your car. This is not a good place to go cheap. We had 13-inches of snow here today. It was fun driving past all those people whose all-season tires couldn't get them out of their driveways while I cruised past easily on my dedicated winter tires. I was probably the only non-4-wheel drive on the road this morning and I was doing better than a lot of those! Winter tires are well worth it! Go to www.tirerack.com and click on the "Winter" tab. Type in your vehicle information and they can set you up with all manner of winter tire options. In a 15 or 16-inch size they can even get you a set of winter tires already mounted on their own wheels and ready to bolt on for about $500.

Q: engine mounts for a volvo c70?
Where is the best place to get engine mounts for a volvo c70 (1998) and whats a good price to pay for a mechanic to change them out? hmmm anyone out there?

A: First, you could try your local dealer who would be charging full price for the mounts. There are other sources such as IPD (ipdusa.com). There are many aftermarket vendors for Volvo parts so do an Internet search. You'll be surprised at the results.

Q: Whats the song on the volvo c70 commercial that goes like "there's something in the way you move"

A: I think you meant the commercial for the XC90 and not the C70. The song for the XC90 commercial is 'Something in the Way' by Nicolai Dunger. The song for the C70 commercial is 'I can see clearly now' by Peter Nash.

Q: Volvo C70 convertible makes a clinging rattle noise over both real wheels when driving over bumps.?
My car is making a rattle noise, feels like something is loose. The car drives fine -no shimmy or bouncing. Just noise if the road is not smooth as glass. Does it come from faulty lower ball joints? What else? How expensive? How much work? Thanks everyone

A: What year is your C70? You may want to check with the dealer, it may be a recall of warranty item.

Q: Volvo C70 Maintenance?
Is it true that every 10,000 miles a 2001 Volvo C70 convertible needs to have its brakes changed? It sounds a little unreasonable, but this is what my mechanic said. Is it true? Thanks

A: not at all, normally you can get from 25-40k on the front brakes maybe a little better on the rear, all depending on driving habits. A lot of highway driving normally gets better mileage intervals than city where you are on the brakes more often.Or if you are in the habit of "riding the brakes" expect shorter replacement intervals.

Q: Volvo C70 or Charger SRT8?
Im on a journey of buying a new car. An i have 2 in mind. Volvo C70 or Charger SRT8. Totally different cars and styles. But which one would you like best?

A: I am a volvo service advisor as my job and I would advise you on the following. Buy that Dodge. The C70's, especially the new style (2007) makes tons of interior noise and already have a hefty list of recalls.

Q: Volvo c70 workshop manual?
please can someone tell me where I can download a volvo c70 workshop manual

Q: 1999 VOLVO C70 TURBO CONV, 85k Miles? Reliable?
Hey all... I am looking at a 1999 VOLVO C70 TURBO Blue convertable tomorrow. I found it on a dealers website, no pictures, but I can imagine what one would look like. I carfaxed the VIN and it comes out pretty clean, 2 owners who appear to have took great care of the car according to the car fax... think 99' C70's are reliable cars? Wasn't that around when FORD bought out Volvo? _______________ The car i'm talking about is HERE: http://www.1800thompson.com/ou/doylestown-bmw/console.do?page=f_used_inventory .. Under Volvo C70... & The CARFAX is: http://www.zshare.net/download/12705548aec385a1/ Any Opinion from those who knows a lot about cars? One last mention, this car is 8000$, and its mostly gonna be a beater car for a few years. Maybe or 5-6 years. Think this will last?

A: I've owned 2 newer Volvo's and they haven't been that great of cars. I had a 1999 V70 R AWD and it started to have major problems after 100K miles. The other Volvo that we still own is 2003 XC70 and I thank God every day that we have the extended warranty on it. We've had to replace the transmission (88K miles) The drive shaft (90K miles) And some other stuff that I forget at the moment. The warranty cost us about $2,200.00 but it has saved us almost $10,000.00!
