Q: Are those Kia cars worth buying?
With the recession here, lately I have seen many commercials for the Kia cars, starting at 14,000, which is pretty damm cheap and tempting. are those cars worth it? or are they just crappy and is better to get a used honda or something like that.

A: kia is crap.Timing belts break at about 48,000 miles.Axles last about 50,000 miles.Radiator last about 90,000 miles. And the replacement parts are very expensive. The cheapest kia alternator for the optima is 300$ rebuilt.Axles are About 700$ apiece.Radiator is 300$.Timing belt replaced is about 1,000$.I know this because my 2001 optima spends every other day in the shop and my mechanic does discount work and also gets the parts off the internet at wholesale prices.

Q: Someone told me kia cars are made by GM. Is this true?
I would like to buy a kia car but we don't have a kia delear around here and someone told me kia cars are made by GM. Is this true?

A: Kia is a Ford Product and the main plant is in GA if I am not mistaken on the location. They are not made in KOREA! I have had freight delivered right there in GA! I just went to the web site below. THE full name of the company is KIA AMERICA MOTORS. Their parent company is from South Korea so I stand corrected on that. But the main AMERICAN version is headquartered in Irvine, CALIF. the site below will tell you where the closest KIA dealership is to your zip code. THE CAR YOU PURCHASE WILL BE MADE IN UNITED STATES!

Q: I have these two cars im looking at, chrysteler and kia? Which is more expensive when comes time to fix it?
Also what counrty makes these cars? I heard kia is a japense car? Is that true what about chrystler? Thanks for answering!!

A: A Chrysler is very expensive to own and fix.

Q: Who makes a power chip or chip programmer for Kia Cars?

A: Surge Engineering has just such a chip. You can read about it here: http://www.yourhotcar.com/prod/Surge_Engineering/Performance_Parts/Performance_Chips/Surge_Performance_Chip/17558

Q: How many of you think that KIA puts out luxury cars?
This one dunce was saying they do, but then again he owns one and is one to say what he has is top of the line.

A: Keep in mind that the real 'definition' of Kia is affordable transportation. Their nicest car, the Amanti, isn't luxury by any means, especially compared to BMW, Mercedes, and Jaguar, to name a few. It is just a nicer cheap car!

Q: Are Kia cars any good?
Looking at buying a Kia Rio. its gonna be my first car and the monthly payment is good. ive heard 7 or 8 people tell me theyve heard that Kia's are no good. i guy i work with swears by them and he knows 2 others that are very happy with them. i really dont know much about cars and Kia offers a 5 year bumper-to-bumper warrently where ill only have to pay for my gas, tires and windsheild wash. theyve got 5 years roadside assistance. any advice?

A: Kia has been struggling w/ a long history of reliability issues. They slap a big warranty on their cars to lure people just like you in. The warranty is very strict & you must adhere to a well planned preventive maintenance program. You won't just be buying gas I assure you. Spend a little more & get a Toyota Yaris or Nissan Versa. They are both better cars & will live much longer. The problem w/ Kia, imo, is that is 2 years, the car will be worth considerably less than what you owe on it. That's called negative equity. If you tried to get rid of the car, you won't be able to unless you come up with the difference. You need to research your choice of a car a little more. All cars depreciate, but Korean made cars are much worse than others. That includes the Chevy Aveo which is an imported Daewoo from S. Korea.

Q: What are some positive aspects of Kia cars?

A: Based on 2003-2009 Kia's. -Cheap to maintain. -Great on gas -Long Warranties. -Reliability is good, not the best, not bad, but good. -Imporved quality over older Kia's.

Q: Are Kia Cars Really that Bad??
We are looking for a cheap 8 seater car. Kia Carnival Seems to have good warranty and a nice design, but whenever i ask about advice about cars they always tell my to never buy a kia. 1 person Said that 8 years ago kia made a bad and it got to the press but now its okay. Should i Buy one or not??

A: old Kia's are bad. the new Kia Optima and Rondo or Carens are very good low cost alternative vehicles. they do not have the resale value of other cars but they are reliable and cost thousands of dollars less. the Kia Carnival or Sedona has a poor history. the 02 thru 07's are rated well below average.

Q: kia cars need advice on engine emission dash board warning?

A: Need more info but best bet is ur local garage for a diagnostic check.

Q: Is Hyundai an equivalent to a Kia... as in a cheap brand of cars?
Im lookin into a Hyundai and my cousin says no that they are cheep cars just like a Kia... is this true?

A: Hyundai bought Kia. Hyundai has been making very good cars since 2004. Kia has some work to do but the Kia Optima & Rondo are excellent vehicles. they are sold for thousands of dollars less than a Honda or Toyota this is most noteable if you plan to resell them. Hyundai Elantra & Santa Fe are the best. Hyundai is much better than Kia but give them time. Kia is the number one selling vehicle in Europe. I drove a Kia Rondo 800 miles and was very impressed. it's the best value for your money available.

Q: Is Kia cars anygood?
Looking to buy a cheap, economical car. I don't care about looking good in it. Currently looking at 2006-2007 models Do these Kia Rios last beyond 150,000 miles?

A: They are good, when they are brand new.
